ACT, or Acceptance Commitment Therapy is a very effective approach to dealing with a whole range of difficult experiences from anxiety and depression to weight loss and burn-out. In carefully controlled studies it has been found to produce long-lasting positive change, even for people who have tried a whole range of strategies to no effect.
